«THE ILKHOM AWARD» NAMED AFTER MARK WEIL
«The Ilkhom Award» was founded in 2007 by the Ilkhom Theater and remained within the framework of the Theater. In autumn of 2007 «The Ilkhom Award» was named after Mark Weil. This theater season Mark Weil planed to develop the Award as a project crossing the borders of one theater and covering different types and genres of the art. According to His idea, the Award would have become an annual forum, where community of Uzbekistan could mark the most outstanding achievements in the sphere of culture, art and mass media. One of the most important components of the forum became freedom from political and market demand-supply situation. Being a social and non-commercial forum, the Prize will mark works in the sphere of culture, art and mass media for its real artistic and social significance. This theater season Mark Weil planed to develop the Award as a project crossing the borders of one theater and covering different types and genres of the art. Famous actors, directors, composers and artists will consist of the Jury of «The Mark Weil’s Ilkhom Prize». March 1, 2008 an award ceremony of the Award will become a culmination.
