27 October-17 December 2006 – A personal exhibition of Takhir Karimov

Works of a young artist, a painter, Takhir Karimov promises to become a beginning of a new legend... Like this they expect something excellent, but vaguely familiar. In his paintings there is a certain charm of the eastern love legends. These paintings promise a glaring and chaste love. Looking at his works, a melody dedicated to girls, flowers, moon dreams and heart embraces is clearly heard. Perhaps, one can not read an earthy store of a vital force in his paintings, but there is a presence of an ephemeral, light and at the same time mysterious world of the East poetry pierced by a theme of pure and the clean and inspired love. His constant aspiration for the beauty, always successful reproducing of emotional nuances, movements and gestures allows him to express his vision, yielding to excellent delusions from the youth. The purity of lines, mysterious tones and lyrical lines in his creation speak about a soul of the artist and his aspiration for bringing to his painting, first of all, an aesthetical origin. His fantasy is inexhaustible on all objects, where his paintings exist. He sees a plane, which could be «revived and spiritualized,» and such a highly artistic attitude even to everyday objects, originated in searches of unexpected connections between plant, mechanical and human worlds is filled with a poetic resourcefulness. Idea-image, «an icon-painting coloring,» the presentation of the art itself by Takhir Karimov – this is already a certain action. Perhaps, a mission of this artist is to accumulate and preserve inside the richest culture of the image painting of the Central Asia.

Takhir Karimov was born on 10 September 1972, in Tashkent, in the family of doctors.

1996 – graduation from the monumental painting faculty of the Uyghur Tashkent Art Institute;
1996-1998 – became a lecturer of the monumental painting chair;
Starting from 1996 – participation in the republic and international exhibitions;
1997 – a personal exhibition in «Asia-Art» in Tashkent;
1998 – obtaining a Grand Prix in the exhibition-contest of young artists;
1998 – participation in the Cologne exhibition among ten other artists of Uzbekistan;
1998 – an entry into the Creative Association of the artists of Uzbekistan;
2000 – a personal exhibition in the «Ilkhom» Theater, organized of the «Caravan» gallery;
2003 – participation in the second international exhibition «Biennale» in Tashkent;
2004 – participation in an exhibition in Moscow;
2005 – participation in an exhibition in Egypt;
2000-2005 – a constant exposition in the «Caravan» gallery.

Works of the artist were bought by private collectors from England, Israel and Germany.
